Welcome to the Krbek Group

We are an Emmy Noether junior research group led by Dr. Larissa von Krbek at the Kekulé-Institute for Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Bonn.

The Krbek group is interested in developing and investigating out-of-equilibrium supramolecular systems. We focus on metallo-supramolecular complexes and cages which are either driven by chemical or photochemical "fuels".

Broadly, the Krbek Group's research interests include:

  • Supramolecular chemistry and molecular (out-of-equilibrium) self-assembly
  • Metallo-supramolecular coordination complexes and cages
  • Photoswitches, their synthesis, investigation, and their use in supramolecular architectures
  • Thermodynamic and kinetic investigation of self-assembled dynamic systems
  • Thermodynamic investigation of (out of the ordinary) host-guest equilibria

Our research on dissipative supramolecular systems will contribute to a better understanding of out-of-equilibrium systems in nature and we are working towards practical applications in molecular separation and catalysis.
