OC-Kolloquium: Dr. Eisuke Ota
Dr. Eisuke Ota, Waseda University:
Altering Selectivity in Photocatalytic Bond Cleavage
Recent advancements in photoredox catalysis have paved the way for innovative strategies to activate and transform inert chemical bonds, offering new possibilities in the synthesis of complex organic molecules. This presentation will focus on our recent efforts to develop photocatalytic methods that modify conventional selectivity patterns in challenging bond activations. By merging photoredox catalysis with transition metal catalysts, we have established strategies to control the regio- and chemoselectivity of C–O, C–N, and C–F bond cleavages. These approaches would contribute to expanding the toolkit for selective bond transformations in organic synthesis.
