Scientific career
In 2022, Shuai earned his Master’s degree in Inorganic Chemistry from Fudan University under the supervision of Prof. Gengfeng Zheng. His work focused on transforming carbon-based small molecules (e.g., CO2, CO) into high value-added chemicals, alongside developing MEA electrolyzers to enhance scalability.
In 2023, Shuai joined the Kornienko Lab at the University of Bonn as a PhD student under the supervision of Prof Dr Nikolay Kornienko. His research focuses on exploring electrochemical methods and in situ characterization techniques to study the electrochemical coupling of carbon- and nitrogen-based small molecules. Shuai is interested in understanding reaction mechanisms and developing new pathways for sustainable chemical processes.
