Scientific career

In 2022, Farzaneh obtained her Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry with a focus on Electrochemistry from Isfahan University of Technology under the supervision of Professor Ali A. Ensafi. Her research centered on water splitting and supercapacitors, exploring the electrochemical properties of Ni-Co-V@PrGO as an electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution (HER) in both alkaline and acidic environments, as well as the synthesis and performance of NiCo₂S₄/V-MOF@rGO as a supercapacitor and P-V-MOF@rGO as an efficient electrocatalyst for oxygen evolution (OER).

In January 2024, she began her PhD under the supervision of Professor Nikolay Kornienko, focusing on using electrochemistry and catalysts to convert small molecules like carbon dioxide (CO₂), and nitrate into more useful chemicals. This work aims to transform common and potentially harmful molecules into valuable products such as fuels and fertilizers, while also reducing pollutants like CO₂, contributing to cleaner energy solutions and sustainable chemistry.
