About the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings1
Since 1951, for more than 70 years, the Lindau Meetings support the exchange between different generations, scientific disciplines and cultures. They are outstanding and internationally renowned conferences, where around 30-40 Nobel Laureates convene in Lindau to meet the next generation of leading scientists: 600 undergraduates, master students, PhD students, and postdocs from all over the world. The varied formats of the scientific programme – lectures, discussions and more – are designed based on the principle of dialogue and to activate the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and experience between and among Nobel Laureates and Young Scientists. Apart from taking the one-time chance to participate in a Lindau Meeting, these Young Scientists become part of a special community — a network of excellence. As Lindau Alumni, former participants stay connected with each other and become ambassadors of the scientific dialogue fostered by the Lindau Meetings.
