Studying and Teaching

The Chemistry Department (Fachgruppe Chemie) is responible for training students in the major field of chemistry (Bachelor's and Master's degree programs) and students in the field of food chemistry. In addition there are students aiming for a teaching degree as well as students from other degree programs (e.g. medicine, dentistry, molecular biomedicine, biology, pharmacy, nutrition and food sciences, geosciences) which have courses at the Chemistry Department.

Are you interested in studying chemistry at the University of Bonn or have you already decided to do so? There are various information and hands-on offers for high school students. The Chemistry Department offers a four-week preliminary course in September for first-year students of the B. Sc. Chemistry, B. Sc. LA Chemistry and StEx Food Chemistry programs. In addition, the online pre-course "Fit4Math", which is open all year round, is recommended for independent consolidation of mathematical basics.
